Holiday Greetings, Gorgeous!
Here in the Midwest, we are putting the finishing touches on the Christmas tree (and searching for all of the ornament hooks that my children inevitably dropped in the carpet in their excitement to get the pretty things up). It’s cold outside…like REALLY cold…and I am drinking a cup of cream with a little salted caramel coffee, while writing this.
This time of year I get excited to break out the bold, dark lipstick colors, and the festive sparkly eye shadows, and the warm, toasted blush…and I could go on and on..but instead, I want to share with you the 10 Christmas beauty products that I am IN LOVE with this season.
It’s totally understandable that you wouldn’t want to spend a ton of money on products that aren’t all that they appear to be, so I’ll help you out by letting you in on some that I have been using for a bit now in preparation for the holidays!

I love to experiment with new colors and products, so here we go.?
When they say 12 hour, they mean 12 hour. This blush stays on extremely well, and blush has been a tough one for me. I have combo/oily skin, especially in the cheek and nose area, and this blush stays on doesn’t look oily, even after a long day. Lots of products claim to work this way, but be careful before investing lots of money on one that you aren’t sure about.
The shade I am loving is, appropriately, “Paaarty”. It’s a light, kind of toasted pink color, and it blends really well. This will give you subtle warmth on your cheek bones, and you can decide how dark you would like the pigment because it is totally buildable.
I’m a big fan of the brand Tarte in any instance, for the most part, because they have some really great products for prices that don’t break the bank.
OK, as far as holiday, shimmery, sparkly eye shadow palettes go, this is your ultimate destination. There are 8 shades, and you can either blend several of them together to form a colorful look on the lid, you can wear one at a time paired with a matte eye shadow, or you can use them as a sparkly liner.
I have used them as a shadow and a liner and been very satisfied. Always wear an eye shadow primer, to maintain the same bright look of your eye shadow, and then I recommend using a shadow brush dipped in water with these shadows. Simply grab your go-to brush, dip it in a little water, and then dab on a towel or tissue. Roll your brush around in the shadow and then apply to lid. This ensures that the pigment will go onto the smoother, darker, richer, and will stay put longer. It also decreases drop off, those pesky particles that fall below your eye onto your cheeks.
There are several shades in this palette that can be used as a liner, such as a gray/black, a brown, and a blue. If you want to use them as a liner, grab an eyeliner brush, and swipe the edge of it through the shadow, then, pulling the skin of the lower lid taught, run the brush just under your bottom lashes all the way to the outer corner of your eye.
These shadows are also buildable, so you can start out with a little and build up to the saturation of color that you like.
Below a look showcasing the blue shade, “Vega” from this palette ?
Also, they sparkle BEAUTIFULLY under the light. I went to a concert not long ago, rocking these shadows and they looked GREAT all night.
I am not ashamed to admit that I have an entire drawer nearly entirely full of highlighters. There are not enough days in the week for all of the different highlighters that I would like to wear! The greatest thing about them, is that a little goes A LONG WAY! Seriously, a little dab with the finger, or with a brush, and you can cover all necessary parts of the face.
I recommend gently dusting a highlighter brush through the powder and sweeping over cheekbones to the hairline, and using your index finger to put a little dab in the middle of your cupid’s bow to really give a defining and plumping effect to your lips.
Also, this can be used right in the center of your bottom lip to give the illusion of fuller lips.
If you’re into highlighters, this is the one to grab this holiday season.
Its a large container, so it will last FOREVER, and the brand produces nothing but awesome.
This is one of two of my go-to reds. If you like matte lipstick, this is one of the best.
You will have to excuse my picture…the tube is obviously very used!
But thats the case with my Mac lipsticks. They get a lot of use! ??
It is more on the cool side of the scale, so it goes very well with cool skin tones. The pigment is very bright, and again with this product, a little goes a long way.
The application can be a little difficult if your lips are dry, so be sure to use a dry toothbrush to exfoliate the lips a bit before applying, or pick up an exfoliator specifically designed for lips.
I also recommend using a liner with any bright, bold color such as this, because the lipstick can bleed onto the skin a bit, and that’s embarrassing!
If you are more of a lip stain gal, here is my other go-to red lip color?
And this is what it looks like when applied ?
So, I don’t know about you, but when I attend a holiday party, I love the smell of the food.
The hor d’ourves, the ham, and especially the desserts. Add in the smell of twenty individual cologne and perfumes, and you’ve got a headache. Though many people sway in the direction of the warm, musky scents for the holidays, I prefer to stick with light, clean scents.
As the name suggests, Light Blue is a clean, crisp, light scent that is definitely not overwhelming in a close, personal party space.
I love it because I can wear it the whole year through, and pretty much everywhere without having to worry about knocking out my dental hygienist or Pilates instructor with a scent that is too overpowering. And!! They also have a light, clean, manly scent for your man. It smells great as well!
Im obviously due for a new bottle…mine is empty!
I am pretty taken with anything Anastasia, so this was a given for me, but it is actually pretty difficult to find a nude lipstick that can be swiped on without having to use anything else with it. I love love love this lipstick. The nude color is perfect, and I don’t even wear a lip liner with it most of the time. I know, gasp.
It is a matte lipstick, but the color adheres so well that if you are partial to a glossy finish, you can apply the lipstick and then apply some gloss over the top, and you’ve got the perfect polished look!
If you are going to make up your eyes for a special occasion with an over the top glam look, it is usually best to keep your lip look simple. You don’t want to overdo it. This is a color that can be worn with a t-shirt and jeans, or a ballgown. Seriously. It also has the added benefit of making your lips look plump as all get out. Love it.
To be honest, when I’m relaxing at the end of my day, I get a little lazy. The kids are in bed and I am checked out. When it gets late and I suddenly realize that I haven’t masked in a week (a cardinal sin in the beauty world), we have a problem. Well…we used to. Sheet masks are awesome. With this particular one, you can grab it, apply it to your face (its all one piece and there is no mess), and then take it off after 20 minutes…with no clean up.
I usually grab this mask before snuggling up on the couch, and I can recline back and let it sit and work its magic. When the time is up, I simply pull the mask off, put it in the trash, and gently massage the remaining serum into my skin. That’s it. no rinsing or clean up. Your skin will feel plump and refreshed, perfect for the holidays!
Back to Tarte again, this is a concealer. A great one, at that. I received a sample size of this to try, and will definitely be purchasing the full size. You can apply it under your eyes, over blemishes and redness, and use it as a non-shimmer highlighter for contouring. So multi-functional!
It lasts quite a while, and the coverage is amazing. When you need to “conceal” how tired you are at a holiday get together, this is a great way to go.
So, there’s a new type of product that has really impressed me, and others, in the pro beauty world.
This is one version of these products. Basically, the versatility is endless. You can use this cream to highlight (can you feel my love for highlighters, yet?), to prime, to refresh, to illuminate, as a base for eye shadow, or to brighten your face on days that you aren’t feeling like a full face of makeup.
I have been mixing it, recently, with my foundation to really illuminate and give me a fresh glow.
I’ve also used it on top of my base makeup to give me a subtle highlight. It would also be great on the neck/chest area, arms, and legs, to give an all over iridescent glow.
If you are looking for a blush that lasts forever. Look no farther.
AND, there are three shades. You can mix, match, whatever you want.
Also, The shade on the left makes a great subtle bronzer.
Here is what the far left shade looks like when applied very sparingly?:
You only want to dip the very tip of your blush brush into the blush. These blushes are so pigmented you DO NOT need much at all, and if you get too much its very difficult to blend.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope I could assist you in achieving a great look for the holidays that you can feel wonderful about. If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below! Or feel free to email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a blessed beautiful day!
